Identify the problem before taking the parcel elsewhere
Open the affected Vinted order and its current shipping instructions. Is there a printable label but no printer, a supplied QR code that will not scan, or no accessible label at all? These need different checks. Confirm Royal Mail is the selected provider, read the ship-by deadline and keep the parcel with you while resolving the label problem.
Reddit questions retrieved through Arctic Shift include sellers receiving a print-only label, expecting a QR code or struggling to use one at a locker. These individual reports identify useful preparation questions; they do not establish a universal format change or a faulty network. Start with what your own order actually issued, rather than the format another seller received.
Distinguish the QR code from the final shipping label
Royal Mail’s Vinted guidance describes a label link with posting instructions, home printing and QR-based label printing at a Royal Mail shop or Post Office branch. This does not establish that every order provides every format. Follow the options in your order and check the selected location can perform the required printing and drop-off service before travelling.
A QR code supplied for label printing and the final addressed shipping label have different roles. Do not print an arbitrary screenshot and assume it is the parcel label, or attach a code intended only for presentation to staff. If only a QR code is available and you want to print at home, check whether the order provides a printable download; otherwise use its supported printing route.
- Printable label: obtain the actual label file and arrange printing.
- QR code: confirm the order-supported location and printing instructions.
- Neither accessible: troubleshoot the order’s label access before dispatch.
Arrange printing without changing the booked service
For a print-only label, Vinted advises checking whether the approved drop-off location can provide a label. Its other suggestions include help from friends or family and printing at a library or printing shop. Confirm opening hours and file access in advance. A nearby parcel shop offering printing for another carrier may be unable to print this particular Royal Mail booking.
Keep the label readable and match it to the correct sold item before attaching it. Share the file only with whoever needs to print it; it contains delivery information. Vinted’s label help says a generated label cannot be exchanged for a different carrier or drop-off method. Privately buying replacement postage or switching to an unrelated QR service can disconnect the parcel from the order’s shipping process.
Check access and location when the code or download fails
For a missing label email or an inaccessible download, Vinted’s label help recommends checking spam and account email details, then trying another device or browser. Check the order conversation as well as the original email. Record the precise error and which step failed: opening the instructions, downloading the label, displaying the code or having the location scan it.
If staff cannot scan a supplied QR, ask whether that location supports the issued label and whether the code being presented is the current one for this order. Our practical suggestion is to reopen the original code and display it clearly, without cropping or editing it. If it still fails, retain the parcel and ask for the supported next step instead of experimenting with an unattended deposit.
If your order permits Royal Mail locker posting, print and attach the actual shipping label before using the locker. Royal Mail’s locker FAQ says to keep the barcode far enough from the scanner and avoid creased barcodes. Use manual barcode entry only when the screen offers it. This is a check of the final parcel label, separate from a QR supplied for label printing. If the barcode remains invalid, will not scan or the door will not open, retain the parcel and check another location compatible with the method purchased for this order.
Resolve repeated failure before the order deadline
Use the carrier location link in the order conversation to check another supported location when appropriate. Changing locations does not authorise changing the purchased drop-off method. If the problem persists, use Vinted’s Help Centre for the affected order and explain the format issued, error, location attempted and dispatch deadline. Tell the buyer that preparation is delayed; do not confirm a dispatch that has not happened.
Vinted’s label guidance describes notifying the buyer, cancelling and asking them to reorder when repeated attempts leave no way to obtain or use the label. A new order may offer a different shipping or pickup option. Follow that official flow and the options currently available in your order. Avoid creating a second active shipment while the original transaction or label problem remains unresolved.
Give a fulfilment team the issued instructions and a clear exception
Before sending eligible orders to a UK handling team, share the item-to-order mapping, current label format, supported posting route and relevant deadline. Specify whether you need printing, parcel matching or physical handover. An unresolved QR should remain an exception with a named owner; counting the parcel in a prepared batch does not show that a usable final label exists.
Jeton Express’s Vinted UK planner supports enquiries about RM label checks, handover and UK fulfilment. Provide a label sample and the actual handling requirement so the available scope and records can be agreed. After successful label preparation, retain the final parcel reference and available posting evidence. If the parcel has already been handed over but tracking is unchanged, use the separate dispatch-status guide linked below.
